A Home Cooked Holiday

It goes without saying that this year has been anything but normal and with the holidays coming up it is no surprise that we may have to reimagine our normal traditions as well.

With Thanksgiving only a few weeks away, most of us are starting to think about what we will be cooking (turkey, mashed potatoes and pie, oh my!). We may not be planning the menu for a large gathering this year but a Thanksgiving with a delicious meal of some sort will still take place.

It is with this that I ask you to keep our mission in mind. Helping people who do not have the means to cook a Thanksgiving meal for themselves so that we may all enjoy a dinner together even if only in spirit.

Please consider making a monetary donation or donating new or gently used goods this holiday season.

As a reminder, the items that we include in our starter kits are as follows:

Welcome to The Pots and Pans Project!

Thank you for taking the time to check out what The Pots and Pans Project is all about!

Our mission is to reduce the barriers to home cooking and healthy eating for individuals and families transitioning out of shelters and into homes of their own by providing the tools necessary to cook at home. Cooking at home has a wide array of benefits and we want to help everyone take advantage of them.

How Does It Work?

The Pots and Pans Project collects donations of new or gently used kitchenwares or monetary donations that we then assemble into "starter kits". These starter kits have everything a new home cook would need to make and enjoy a meal at home. For more information on what goes into each starter kit, please see "How to Help".

After the donations have been collected and assembled into the starter kits, they are brought to partners in the community who distribute them to their clients.

We are so grateful for the community partners who help us to easily distribute these kits to those in need and for all the wonderful and thoughtful donations we receive.
