Our Story
Working as a nutritionist for a Head Start program in Boston, our founder, Alexandra, spent time asking families about the barriers to healthy eating and cooking at home. While the answer was sometimes lack of time or not knowing how to shop for healthy food, many other times it was that they were lacking the equipment needed to cook or eat the food.
Many of the families that Alexandra worked with had recently moved into their own home from shelters or other shared living situations. She knew that helping to provide these essential kitchen items would be a step in the right direction for cooking at home and in turn eating healthy.
The idea for the project came in 2018 and in February of 2020, The Pots and Pans Project delivered their first set of starter kits.. The project has continued to deliver started kits to community partners throughout the greater Boston and north shore Massachusetts area.

We’d love to hear from you!
